Homemade Sardinas
Spending Holyweek is not easy for some of us specially to those who religiously follow fasting and abstinence. I would like to share with you my mommy's recipe of sardines. Instead of serving fish and vegetables this holyweek , why don't u surprise your family and loved ones with your own sardinas!
Prepare 1kilo galunggong (make sure it is clean, remove bituks, heads and tails cut off), 500ml tomato sauce,1 cup of water, 3/4cup of oil (vegetable oil will do pero mas ok pag olive oil), 3tsp of salt, 2 tbs vinegar, 5pcs of pickles (sliced), 5 siling labuyo crushed (remove seeds), 2 carrots (sliced), 3 laurel leaves, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of vetsin for the umami taste. Place all the ingredients in a pressure cooker.Make sure that you arrange the fish in rows. Cook for an hour in a moderate heat.Happy eating!
